CTC - Disponibili i risultati degli studi SAVE e Proteus

L'Osservatorio Nazionale Scrrening comunica che sono disponibili i primi risultati degli studi Save (condotto allo scopo di aumentare l’adesione della popolazione invitata allo screening del carcinoma colorettale e trovare nel contempo test più efficaci dal punto di vista diagnostico) e Proteus (che conferma l’accettabilità e l’accuratezza diagnostica della CTC in un setting di screening e suggerisce possibili scenari di utilizzo della CTC).

USPSTF greenlights CT colonography for screening

U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) has finally deemed CTC modality to be an acceptable option for colorectal cancer screening. The determination paves the way for Medicare reimbursement and broader coverage by private payors.
CTC was included as one of seven acceptable options for colorectal cancer screening in the task force's final recommendations.

DBT screening shows greatest benefit for younger women

Digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) shows its greatest benefit when used to screen women younger than 50, according to research published October 13 in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. DBT was effective in reducing recalls and increasing cancer detection in these younger women, who have been at the center of the controversy over breast screening.

Proteus Colon presentation at RSNA 2014 (Chicago)

Screening for Colorectal Cancer: Results of the Proteus Colon Screening trial for Colorectal cancer will be presented at RSNA 2014. Proteus Colon is a randomized trial comparing comparing Flexible Sigmoidoscopy (FS) with CT Colonography (CTC), based on im3D CAD COLON technology. In the talk, differences in participation rate between FS and CTC in a population-based colorectal cancer (CRC) screening program in Turin, Italy, will be discussed.
Presentation will take place on Dicember 3rd at 10.50am in room E351.
